Description

I had been planning to re-photograph the planetary nebula M 57 for a long time - my first attempts at lucky imaging were back in 2021 - but there was always something more interesting and the Ring couldn't make it to the top of the list. Returning to this object was a matter of chance and is largely thanks to my friend Piotr (I was working at his observatory), for which I am very grateful. It turned out that in my absent-mindedness, I forgot the coma corrector, and returning home just for that one part was not an option. However, following Piotr's suggestion, the camera with a small field of view could compensate for the absence of this element, and I should try with what was on hand. I ended up using the Player One Mars-C camera (sensor IMX 462), as its larger counterpart, Uranus-C, was working diligently in the 14" Dobsonian, capturing the ISS .

The excellent conditions that night allowed me to capture over 23,000 frames quite decently. A few days later, I added some hydrogen data, and the result of combining these two materials is presented below.
