Description

This is an LRGB version of Barnard 59. It may be the Rorschach test of nebulae. To me it looks like a Chinese character but I've been told an "upside down glove" and a "Batsignal" by others. Of course, whatever it looks like, it's just our overactive pattern matching brains trying to make things look familiar and recognizable.

Here's how I processed:

Each R G and B:
dynamic crop
channel combination
DBE (challenging to find good spots...fewer is better!)

RGB
channel combination
blurXterminator
noiseXterminator
GHS
LRGBCombination (adding L)
starXterminator (extracting unscreened stars)
GAME and HT to reduce star halo
pixel math stars back in (screen)
Curves (contrast, reduced saturation slightly)
Used the mask for the bright star and Curves to desaturate the remaining halo a bit more

Lum
dynamic crop
blurXterminator
GHS

Stars
unsharp mask (very mild sharpening)
