Description

The red (Ha Signal) is Sh2-129, The Flying Bat Nebula. The Blue Squid Nebula (OIII signal) in this image (OU4) was discovered by the French Amateur Astrophotographer Nicolas Outters in 2011.

This one is going to take a while. Back in July 2021, I attempted this target with some degree of success. Back then, I didn't know hardly any of the processing "tricks" that I do know. This time, I have different equipment, better filters, and for the first time, I'm using a Starizona APEX 0.65 Focal Reducer which bring the F-Ratio down from 7.5 to 4.9.

The "Master Plan" is to get at least 40 hours but I'm going for 50. This is going to take some time. Hopefully Mother Nature and the Sky Gods will be merciful. This will probably be the last target for this calendar year. As of 05 Nov 2023, I have incorporated 28.33 hours of OIII data.
