Description

M64 - The Black Eye Galaxy is a spiral galaxy located 17 million light years away in the constellation Coma Berenises. A dark band of light absorbing dust near its core is responsible for the galaxies nickname. This galaxy differs from most by a strange internal motion pattern where the outer regions rotate in the opposite direction from the gas and stars in the internal region. This seems to be the result of a merger of a satellite galaxy billions of years ago.

I am hoping that some of my AP buddies out there in Astrobin land can help me to understand the region on the right side of this image. I was present in all of the frames, so I don't think it is a gradient or an artifact. Could this be IFN??? Thanks in advance for any education you can offer to me in the comments...
