Description

I shot NGC 4216 and its neighbors in Apr. 2023 (one of my first Astrobin posts).  Little did I know that a nice supernova would appear in this galaxy 10 months later.  Naturally, I had to go back and take a look.  The seeing was soft and I had to trash lots of subs due to wind and other problems, but the SN is readily visible even with a modest amount of integration time.  Pretty cool.  But viewing SN 2024gy with my own eyes in my 22" dob under Bortle 1 skies in February was even better.  Hopefully at least some of you saw this visually, too.

I also included an annotated version highlighting SN 2024gy as "revision B".
