Description

This is a H II region located near one end of a giant molecular cloud in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way Galaxy which is 5,000 light years from earth and about 130 light years in diameter. Radiation from young stars excite the atoms in the nebula causing the light we see being emitted. This is truly a beautiful form from within our own galaxy.
