Description

The Orion Nebula, the Queen of our night sky is one of the brightest nebulae out there and easily seen to the naked eye. It is the nearest star-forming region to Earth, located approximately 1,350 light-years away and is about 2 million years old. This is my best take on this region so far with a total integration time of 14h. I used a mono camera with Ha and Oiii narrowband filters to create a HOO color palette in HDR using 30s and 300s exposures and pointed to this target for 2 nights. The first night was in suburban skies bortle 6/7 using Ha filter to cut all light pollution. The second night was in dark skies bortle 3 to get good quality Oiii data. Definitely going to print this one
