Description

Discovered in 1714 by Edmond Halley, and cataloged by Charles Messier on 1764 this globular cluster located on the constellation Hercules consists of several hundred thousand stars. M13 is located between 22,000 and 25,000 light years from earth and has an apparent visual magnitude of 11.95.
