Description

The Rosette Nebula in RGB color camera (caldwell 49 and NGC2244 Cluster)

What is special about this processing? Exactly nothing. And that was my point all along. I wanted a Rosette nebula without filters (I just used a luminance filter to cut UV and IR).
I searched Astrobin for well processed Rosettes and they all seem (from my limited research) to have Ha Narrowband frames. Mine doesn't.

About the target:

The cluster and nebula lie at a distance of 5,000 light-years from Earth and measure roughly 130 light years in diameter.
The radiation from the young stars excites the atoms in the nebula, causing them to emit radiation themselves producing the emission nebula we see.
The mass of the nebula is estimated to be around 10,000 solar masses.
