Description

This was another difficult target to process. The colors and structure weren't clear at all. I was longing for a scope with better magnification. But late in the processing, the details began to reveal themselves. And this cluster is a lovely grouping of several galaxies of various types, both obvious and barely visible.

RGB:

1. WeightedBatchProcessing, Subframe Selector, Star Alignment, Local Normalization, Image Integration, Drizzle Integration, Dynamic Crop

2. Dynamic Background Extraction

3. EZ Denoise

4. ChannelCombination

5. Photometric Color Calibration

6. ArchsinhStretch

7. Dynamic Background Extraction

8. EZ Star Reduce

L:

1. WeightedBatchProcessing, Subframe Selector, Star Alignment, Local Normalization, Image Integration, Drizzle Integration

2. Star Alignment with RGB image

3. EZ Denoise

4. ArchsinhStretch

5. Topaz AI Denoise

6. Masked M81 & ran LocalHistogramEqualization

7. Masked M82 & ran LocalHistogramEqualization with slightly different parameters

Ha:

1. WeightedBatchProcessing, Subframe Selector, Star Alignment, Local Normalization, Image Integration, Drizzle Integration

2. Star Alignment with RGB image

3. Topaz AI Denoise

4. ArcsinhStretch

5. CloneStamp to remove the bright center from M81

6. HistogramTransformation to darken background -- we want only the bright nebulosity in M81 to transfer

RGB+L+Ha:

1. Create residual mask from Extract Wavelet Layers, then use Histogram Transformation to increase mask contrast

2. Clone the mask, and use CloneStamp to have one show M81 and the other show M82

3. Apply mask for M81 only

4. Use LRGB Combination to apply L (M81 only)

5. Keeping M81 mask, Mix in Ha using PixelMath: R: 1-((1-RGB)*(1-Ha)); G: RGB; B: RGB

6. Curves Transformation to brighten M81 and remove any tints

7. Switch to M82 mask

8. LRGB Combination to apply L (M82 only)

9. Curves Transformation to brighten M82 and bring out the red

10. Unsharp Mask

11. Topaz AI Denoise to remove last bit of noise

I'm overusing AI Denoise, but it's my newest tool so that's gonna happen.

Description: Re-ran L and Ha combinations, concentrating on color fidelity. Also I corrected M81 and M82 separately in this version, using masks.
