Description

The Heart Nebula, IC 1805, Sharpless 2-190, lies some 7500 light years away from Earth and is located in the Perseus Arm of the Galaxy in the constellation Cassiopeia. It was discovered by William Herschel on 3 November 1787.

This was another challenging target, even though it is a "bright" nebula, I imaged it through a full moon as this was the only clear sky window. I went full narrowband to combat the moon glow. The data came through better than expected, however it took over 8 nights to complete as I had to throw away over three nights worth of OIII data as clouds continued in and out of the imaging session, with 20 min subs, it ruined a lot of exposure by inflating my HFR. Now the fall clouds have settled in I went ahead and processed what data I had.

I love the Cyan that comes out in this nebula when doing Hubble palate, much the same as its partner the soul nebula.

Hopefully there are clear skies somewhere out there!

Dan.

Description: slightly adjusted colour in the Ha regions to bring more contrast, ran another deconvolution to try and sharpen a bit.

Description: Felt original was too over processed, slight green cast and didn't like the stars very much. This is a complete re-process with new work flows in PI
