Description

An overview of an often imaged nebula complex. NGC 7822 is a young star forming complex in Cepheus. It encompasses a huge the emission region designated Sharpless 171.The estimated distance is about 3000 light years.
I decided to make a widefield for the "poor" : Samyang 135 mm lens opened at f/2.4 with a second hand defiltered Canon 77D and the bi-band LEnhance filter from Optolong, on a small travel ioptron sky guider mount. This ia a quite faint complex (except for the core of NGC 7822), 2h15h of exposure are not really enough for an uncooled OSC.
Wait a minute : "often imaged nebula" but is it also well known? Did you know that NGC7822 is mainly illuminated by one very hot binary OV5 star named BF+66 1673 ? In version B you can discover the position of this binary system, emitting 100000 more power than our Sun. On the image it looks so tiny and insignificant. Always be careful of appearances...
