Description

This area of the sky is quite popular but it's beauty draw me to attempt a semi-deep photo. This false color image is composed of Ha, OIII and SII in the HSO-2 palette from APP. It provides a beautiful rendition of the gases in the nebula while at the same time respecting some of the independent areas. Take a look at the ribbon floating just above the main nebula section, its pure red color while keeping the HSO palette in the rest is quite enticing. As its always my struggle, I ended up with exposure unbalanced channels, mitigated by the fact the nebula itself is so bright. Data taken over 28 nights.

One last thing: I recommend you enjoy the image in full res, the background is full with tiny galaxies that are absolutely gorgeous
