Description

While I was taking subs for the Iris Nebula (https://www.astrobin.com/if5fu0/), I was also taking frames of a Kp4 aurora in Upper Peninsula Michigan in a Bortle 2 sky. Looks like I caught the Double Cluster (ngc869) on the right side there.

A deserted parking lot just off of Lake Superior was the perfect place. And in this lucky shot, I caught a meteor *without* a satellite photobombing the shot! [*edit* I'm not entirely convinced this is a meteor. Could also be a satellite flare. */edit*]

2 seconds at ISO 6400, f/1.4. Auto-contrast, auto-tone, rotate 0.25 deg CW, crop in photoshop, sharpen/smooth in Topas DenoiseAI. About 2:00 am at 46 deg northern latitude on May 12, 2021.
