Description

This is a very nice (apparent) ensemble of galaxies in the constellation of Lacerta. NGC 7264 is an edge-on Sb galaxy some 200 Mly away with a strong dust band while NGC 7265 is of Hubble Typ S0 with an active galactic nucleus at a distance of about 237 MLy. Neighboring NGC7265 is UGC12007, a ring-like galaxy. Some other background galaxies can be seen as well, and also NGC7263 at the upper end of the image.
