Description

The Tadpoles! IC 410 is an emission nebula in the constellation Auriga. It stretches about 100 light years across and sits approximately 12000 light years from earth. The Nebula takes its shape due to the open star cluster NGC1893 that lies at its center. Radiation from this open cluster illuminates nearby gasses and stellar wind form what appears to be two tadpoles swimming in a pool of cosmic dust. The tadpoles are each about 10 light years long and their heads may give birth to new stars in the future.
