Description

Three nights LRGB on the Gecko nebula with 530 mm FL FSQ-106.  The first night I shot narrowband SHO but the colors and contrast didn't look good. I may try and integrate LHaRGB later but my first attempt didn't work well - too much red in the Gecko.

The Gecko is faint. I used 5 min exposures and this might be better with another night or two of LRGB. I stretched with GHS. I am finally getting the hang of it and it brought out a lot of faint nebulosity without blowing out  the brighter regions.

The Gecko is in a dense star field. I used BlurX for decon, removed the stars and used HistogramTransform to dim them a bit before adding back to the processed image at the end.

This is mirrored horizontally. I liked the framing better this way. What do you think?
