Description

This is a 2-panel mosaic I imaged over two separate nights about a month apart while up north at our cabin in northern Michigan. It’s about 15 light years long (approx. 90 trillion miles) and 650 light years away from Earth in the constellation Cepheus. The Dark Shark nebula consists of: Reflection Nebulas where the gases reflect the nearby stars, the eye is made from a Dark Nebula that blocks the stars behind it from shining through, and galaxy PGC 67671 which is about 58 million light years away.
