Description

Tight spirals with multiple layers make this an interesting structural galaxy if not the most beautiful artistically at least. You can see the star burst inner spiral with its bright blue stars shift towards dust and an outer ring of material. Interestingly enough, the less colorful ring is forming stars at a faster rate than the bright inner core region and the outer ring is likely a remnant of another galaxy collision on borrowed material from another galaxy. Even more mystery is around the lack of theorized dark matter holding this form in a stable pattern.

Processing:
Selective curve stretching was needed to make the outer ring more visible. Tricky to not pull the core up too much at the same time. I cross referenced other images and the color really does dramatically shift from the blues to the darker dust arms.
