Description

10 million stars residing in this crowded giant star cluster, 16,000 light-years away. The average distance between any two stars in the cluster’s crowded core is roughly 13 times closer than our Sun’s nearest stellar neighbor, Alpha Centauri. Omega Centauri is among the biggest and most massive of some 150 globular clusters orbiting within the Milky Way. What a monster!
