      Description

The image shows the Cepheus region, which contains an interesting mixture of reflection nebulae, emission nebulae and dark dust clouds. Not far from this area we find the large, dark Barnard 175 nebula topped with the beautiful VdB 152. The remnant of the supernova SNR G 110. 3 +11. 3, which passes through the bottom of the image, is one of the closest SNRs to us and lies about 1300 light-years away. The frame covers only a part of the nebula, which has the shape of an arc and occupies a large area of the surrounding sky.
In the upper part of the frame you can see the emission nebula PN G111. 0+11. 6 (DeHt-5) illuminated by a white dwarf (WD 2218+706).
