This was supposed to be the first light target for my EdgeHD8 + QHYCCD 294M-pro set + Antlia filter set from the backyard. The Ha data acquisition was smooth until couple days later I noticed the screw-in CMOS was loosened from the filter wheel - likely the victim of a few cold nights.
My nightmare started as soon as I tried to reassemble it after tightening the screws. The filter wheel stopped rotation no matter how I re-installed it. The design of the FW sensor requires the carousel press the motor gently, otherwise the signal light will be on as if nothing installed. The touch point of the motor and carousel is a small rubber tube. Apparently its surface smoothness no longer met the design requirement, and hence malfunctioned.
It had happened the first time I setup the equipment. I struggled but finally it worked perhaps purely due to my luck at that time.
I have sent back the fw and am waiting for the replacement.
In the meantime, I used my remote setup to capture the O3/Sii/R/G/B data to finish the project. This picture is based on EdgeHD 8 FOV and its Ha data, plus the remote side-by-side TOA130/FSQ106 RGB + SO data. SHO forms the main picture while RGB is blended twice for luminance as well as hard light modes.
Hope one day I can resume it with EdgeHD8 again.
