Description

I finally had a chance, this week, to complete my imaging run on the Rosette Nebula (only took a month and a half...thanks clouds!). This winter I only did NB ( this is only this years data because the FOV of the 6200MM is larger) with both scopes/cameras (NP127is/ASI6200MM, TV-85/QHY16200A side-by-side), so this has 38 HA @900s, 32 OIII @900s, and 26 SII @900s for a total exposure time of 21.5 hours. NGC 2237 denotes the entire nebula which is an HII region in the constellation Monoceros but certain parts have different designations, NGC 2238, NGC 2239, NGC 2246, and the open cluster at the center NGC 2244. The nebula and cluster lie at a distance of 5,000 light-years from Earth and the nebula is about 130 light-years in diameter with a mass estimated at 10,000 solar masses.

I can sure tell the difference between my data and the data I get from my remote site at DSW-Chile....but my equipment's only 1/2 the price and my skies are 1/5 as good...so I'm okay with that. It's nice to have both! I sure do like doing it all myself, even with it's flaws.

Anyway, hope ya like it!

Tom
