Description

IC 59 and IC 63,  ghosts in Cassiopeiae, are  reflectance/emission nebulae fueled by Gamma-Cass. They are part of a large area of nebula surrounding γ-Cass.

The image is a serious crop. It was taken with my Tak60CB with the 0.72x reducer and ZWO294mm camera binned 1x1. This gives 46 Mpx with a pixel scale of around 1.9 "/px, and a FOV of 4.25 x 2.93 deg.

Some years ago I bought a SW Quatrro 8-CF second hand and the green Vixen GP came as part of the deal. It is on a very nice pillar tripod and very portable and I used it, occasionally, for visual with the grandchildren and their parents. Eventually I came across the Astro Gadget EQStar. When I came to fit it, I realized that the mount was very stiff so I took it apart and regreased it, a couple of times (failure as a learning experience) and eventually it moved somoothly with little force. Guiding was still a problem. So I replaced the RA worm gear with a new one and tried again. This is the first image taken with it.
