Description

Unlike many of the deep space objects that I image, the Adromeda Galaxy so large, bright and relatively close, it is visible to the naked eye on many moonless nights.

The Andromeda Galaxy is the nearest large galaxy at only around 2.5 million light-years from Earth. M31 is about 152,000 light-years is diameter. It's worth noting, the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies are expected to collide in around 4.5 billion years
