Description

This is another image using the rare Nii filter.

IC417 and NGC1931 both have very weak Oiii signals, which cannot be imaged in the heavily light-polluted city sky.

So instead of trying to get something out in the Oiii, I used Nii filter instead.

(I've made a Youtube video about Nii emission line, so feel free to check it out if you are interested!! https://youtu.be/CLPeAsEGqrA?si=7_GbKas_lMmq8k-T)

I've combined Sii, Nii, and Ha, and used Foraxx combination to balance out the channels.
I think this gives nice blue colors that are usually not present in the natural color images, and mild pinkish tints, which I really like on my images.

The stars were imaged separately using RGB filters, and combined into the SNH-Foraxx starless image to give the natural colors to the stars.

Total integration time of this image is about 22 hours.
