Description

Thor's Helmet, NGC 2359 in Monoceros (Canis major?), is truly one of the more striking objects in the winter sky.  This was taken over the months  of November and December at SRO. The amount of acquistion time on this strikingly beautiful Deep Sky Object is a small fraction of the time I spent poring over Adam Block and Lukomatico videos and annoying Linda Thomas-Fowler and Chris Kagy with newbie questions.  Given the predominance of O3 and Ha in this image, I really had to push the S2 data to get the aesthetic I was striving for.  Thanks again to Tim Triche and our SRO team for their help and support.
