Description

Solar chromosphere and prominences with good seeing.  We had a rare perfectly clear no-clouds-in-the-sky blue sunny day in Seattle.  I setup the solar max for visual and the view was incredible.  The filament was deep and I could see a multitude of prominences and a sunspot complex.  So I switched over to my newest solar camera the ASI 178mm and started shooting video.  Later the same day we went in for lunch and a FREAK out of no where DOWNPOUR soaked my gear.  No rain predicted for days and a tiny thunder storm cloud decided to rain just on my block.  Friends down the st had no rain!  We frantically ran out and covered what we couldn’t move and moved the rest to the porch.  I ran the heat lamps on my deck and the BBQ to dry stuff out then brought inside near the fire.  The next day things were dry and everything appears to still be in working order.  What a fright.  This is the first image from that session.
