Description

At the left of this image are two star forming regions, they glow red as the light of these stars radiates nearby hydrogen gas. The dark smoke areas are dense regions of dust, blocking the view of stars as they begin to form. The right half of the image shows us the remnants of a star after it went supernova 10k+ years ago. Hydrogen gas again glowing red, but also oxygen in blue, flowing like tendrils as it's pushed around by solar "wind" from the explosion.

Captured over 3 nights from 2 locations (NB from Bortle 4, RGB from Bortle 2).
