Description

The Sunflower Galaxy (M63) is one of the most interesting objects in the Messier catalog. Located 29.3 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatci, this is a beautiful example of what is known as a flocculent spiral galaxy, meaning that it has patchy, discontinuous spiral arms. This image was made from 13 hours of total integration time (156x5min subs) captured with my Celestron 6SCT and ZWO 183 MC Pro camera.
