This photo is the culmination of multiple processed versions of the same dataset taken by me. I recently made a post on the forums asking other users to take a turn at editing my recent acquisition of M81. I loved seeing the various renditions that everyone came up with, therefore, I decided to average them together and create a collaboration upload.
Thank you to everyone thus far who has contributed to this image, while it may not be the sharpest or has the most amount of detail, the intent was just to be for fun.
I created this composite by using DynamicAlignment in PixInsight to align everyone else's version with the final cropped framing of my own version, then I imported them all as layers in Adobe Photoshop and created a smart object which I then proceeded to combine using the
mean blending mode.
