Description

These faint and arc-shaped emission nebulae are located 600 light-years away in the constellation Cassiopeia. The bluish color comes from the radiation released by a young, hot, bright star located close by, named Gamma Cassiopeia. Gamma Cassiopeia has 17 times the mass of our own sun and is 34,000 times more luminous (but most of that luminosity is in the invisible ultraviolet range).

This was a hard target to shoot and edit. The nebulae are quite faint and nestled up close to a very bright star. Longer exposures allowed me to capture the nebulae but also created a huge halo around the star. I ended up cropping out the star and trying my best to remove the halo caused by it.
