Description

Having in my hand this small scope, I am testing it as a field carry on device. So yesterday I decided to run a couple of test, this one, a fairly conventional one, is quite ok. The key is that M42 is close to the -5, so close to the equator. In this case field rotation was not significative.
It was quite easy to analyse the data, using the already processed (stacked) file from the Seestar S50. Now you can also download all the individual files and do your own method, using DSS or PxI, or whatever.
In this case, it gets a decent image after 30 minutes of 10 second exposures. I am not sure if that qualifies as lucky imaging, because I believe that for lucky imaging you need exposures even shorter than 10 seconds.
Of course, since there is some light pollution I used the build in OIII, Ha filters, which I am not sure if they qualify for narrow band, the OIII filter is 30 nm and Ha is 20 nm, so they help but they are not so "narrow".
