Description

From the New General Catalogue, NGC 891 also known as Caldwell 23, the Silver Galaxy or the Outer Limits Galaxy is an unbarred spiral galaxy in the constellation Andromeda.  The galaxy is approximately 30 million light years away from our galaxy and if we were able to view our galaxy from a distance and edge on like this one, we would look very similar.  This galaxy is extremely dim at almost magnitude 10.0 and it barely showed up in the individual 180 second subs taken from my moderately light polluted backyard including some nights with lots of moon pollution.
