Description

Stephan's quintet in the constellation Pegasus is a group of 5 galaxies named after their discoverer Eduard Jean-Marie Stephan. The brightness of this group is only 13 mag, this is certainly due to the very large distance of about 300 million light years. For this reason I exposed a total of 8 hours.
The spiral galaxy seen in the lower left of the image is NGC 7331, only 46 million light-years away compared to Stephan's quintet, and at 9.5 mag it is already significantly brighter. It was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel in 1784.
