Description

Interacting galaxies ngc 672 and ic 1727 in Triangulum. The warped shapes of these two galaxies is a telltale mark of gravitational interaction. Despite the mutual pull, there is no visible tidal tail or bridge between them. But such a bridge was shown in neutral hydrogen, by radio astronomy.
Also in this wide field (as wide as it gets with 1000 mm focal length and an ASI294 camera) is the asterism Collinder 21 (near the bottom of the image). The stars in this group are between 800 and 1550 light years distant. A bit up and to the left, next to galaxy ic 1731, is another cluster. The small red specks are the members of galaxy cluster [RRB2014] RM J015034.2+271226.1 which is at a distance of about 3 billion light years from our own Milky Way.
