Description

This huge gaz complex (about 120 ly of diameter) results from the explosion of a very massive star (20 times the mass of the sun) between 10000 and 20000 years ago. It is estimated that this Supernova could be observed in the daytime for some weeks (!). The remnants cover an apparent diameter of 3° which makes it six times larger than the apparent Moon diameter. Imagine what spectacle this would be if we could detect it with our naked eyes...
I did not expect to get this window of clear sky end of August, so I set up the gear in a hurry and took my chance for my last wide field of the summer. Not a very deep picture but I like the scenery nevertheless. Hope you can enjoy the view.
