Description

Back in the saddle after a couple years hiatus.  After getting the observatory in working shape I collected a fair amount of data from 2022 that I've started to go through.  M82 and M81 were on the short list of targets to start with.  I figured it was time to revisit them since the last time I had imaged these object was back in 2013 when I first started getting into astrophotography 10 years ago.
Still a bit rusty and still learning the ropes a bit on image acquisition but, progress is progress.

Lum was binned 1x1 and RGB was 2x2.  Hoping to purchase an Ha filter in the near future and to get some more detail on the hydrogen alpha from this galaxy.

Per Wikipedia:Messier 82 (also known as NGC 3034, Cigar Galaxy or M82) is a starburst galaxy approximately 12 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major. It is the second-largest member of the M81 Group, with the D25 isophotal diameter of 12.52 kiloparsecs (40,800 light-years).
