Description

This beautiful nebula is often overlooked due to its brighter and more popular cousins (North America Nebula and Pelican). I like that long dark nebula that snakes its way through the dramatic gaseous complex. I framed this one with the intent of leaving the pelican out of it. Upon inspection, you'll see a sort of T-Rex or velociraptor running. I think some folks call this one the velociraptor as a result, but I like the Forsaken nebula.

I was going to shoot it in SHO first and then add the HOO as an afterthought, but this one came out so well...and I haven't even shot the SII yet. I hope you like my rendition. I have shot this one with two rigs at the same time. The redcat 51+ASI294MM and the Askar FRA400+0.75x+ASI2600MM.
