Description

I recently switched from using a small Takahashi scope as guide scope to a setup where an off-axis guider is doing the guiding instead. This left me wondering: Perhaps I should use the guide scope for piggy-back imaging instead of putting it back on he shelf? The scope is already fixed in position and everything related is in place, so it was simply just to connect an imaging camera with a filter where the guide cam used to be.

So, here is the "first light" from the Takahashi as a secondary imaging telescope: The clamshell nebula, Sh2-119 in Cygnus. The other, narrowband image from the main imaging telescope will be posted soon. The reult is a bit noisier than usual, as the piggy-back telescope is suffering from dithering of the main scope. I have to figure out a way to fix that.
