Description

I reprocessed the image of M101 (found in my gallery) from June 2016 to better match the one I got on the morning of May 26, 2023 that shows the supernova. The shot in 2016 had about an hour's more total integration time, but did not include a light pollution filter. For some reason I can't remember, I didn't shoot flat or bias frames in 2016 either. My skies have also slipped from ~Bortle 5.5 or 6 to ~Bortle 6 or 6.5 in the last seven years. Obviously, the framing of the galaxy I used back in 2016 was slightly different, but close enough to get an easy comparison.
