Description

Just past perihelion on May 14, 2023 and just past closest approach to Earth on July 8, here is periodic comet 237P (LINEAR) from this morning.  Listed at magnitude 12.5 the comet seems to be easier to image than its magnitude suggests as it is clearly seen against the star filled Milky Way in the constellation of Aquila.  237P is a smidgen above 1au from earth at this time.
