Description

Subject: M45 / NGC1432 Pleiades [120'x120', M+1.50], Taurus

Another month of waiting and two false 'clear sky' promises, finally a gap in the clouds again.
Managed to lose some time due to star trailing, after re-fixing the tripod twice and triple-checking polar alignment, somehow the last thing I checked was the "N-S" switch on the Star Adventurer being in the wrong position...

After about 1h clouds rolled in again, but managed to capture the second beginners target from the backyard. Beautiful to see the "seven sisters" bright blue B-type stars reflecting in the surrounding dust, popping up clearly after stacking.

The "Nebra sky disk" from 1600 BC, the oldest artefact with an astronomical depiction (a copy of which is hanging from my backpack) is supposed to depict the Pleiades as well, making it one of the oldest recognisable asterisms. Awesome to have captured it.
