Description

The Elephant's Trunk Nebula is a vast concentration of gas and dust within the much larger ionized gas region IC 1396 located in the constellation Cepheus about 2,400 light-years away from Earth.

This is only my second time imaging this object, and my first time attempting to use both of my Askar Colourmagic dualband filters (D1 - Ha & Oiii + D2 Oiii & Si) in tandem to create a narrowband image using a OSC camera.

I spent some time playing with different ways to combine the data from each of the filters and am not 100% sure I did so in the best/most optimal fashion!  ;-)
