Description

So I'm getting things organized for the Eclipse in April, and I think I've settled my 2nd mount.
I pulled my Skywatcher AZ-GTI that I got in 2019 out of the shed and set it up with the Celestron 80ED I used for imaging the 2017 Solar Elcipse. This time with my old Canon 70D that I'll be able to control via automation for bracketing totality (a big step up from 2017).
Here's a 166 image stack of today's sun.

ISO 100
1/1000

The big sunspot group is about 8.5 times the size of the Earth and is visible with the naked eye wearing eclipse glasses. The other sunspots range from about 75% to about the size of the Earth.
