M97 and M108 field

Revision title: M97 and M108

The planetary nebula M97 (Owl nebula) and the galaxy M108 (NGC 3556, nicknamed as the Surfboard Galaxy). The original image is a full field of view and a source for revision B, C, D. The final revision B is cropped image of both targets in the field view.

Images were taken during full Moon period using wide field William ZenithStar 81 telescope and ASI ZWO 2600 camera. The weather conditions were far from optimum - partially clear sky after two weeks, bright Moon and suburban sky bortle scale around 5-6. Images were taken as a test for combination narrow, luminance and RGB filters for this target. This planetary nebula has a small angular size.

The final image is a composition of the luminance, red, green and blue channel. The narrow bands (Ha, OIII, SII) were added to increase details in the galaxy (M108) image and some parts of the planetary nebula. Processing were done in Pixinsight using BlurXTerminator, NoiseXTerminator and artificial luminance channel. Final stretching was done by GeneralizedHyperpbolicStretch. Stars were used from the LRGB image after application of the SpectroPhotometric algorithm. Version B, C, D are without narrow band filters. You can compare this result with E, F, G, H after mixing with narrow bands.
