Description

The Double Cluster in Perseus refers to two adjacent open star clusters, NGC 869 and NGC 884, located in the constellation Perseus. These clusters are situated at a distance of approximately 7,600 light-years from Earth and are visible to the naked eye as two hazy patches in the night sky. Both clusters are relatively young, with ages estimated to be around 12.8 million years. They contain hundreds of hot, blue stars, which create a dazzling visual spectacle when observed through a telescope or binoculars. The Double Cluster is a popular target for amateur astronomers and astrophotographers alike, offering a stunning view of stellar beauty in the northern hemisphere.
