Description

M6 is a brilliant open cluster nicely situated between the Sting of Scorpius and the teapot of Sagittarius (although it's actually in Scorpius). Only 1600 light years distant, the cluster's primary members shine a bright blue against a reddened Milky Way background. The cluster has a diameter of 12 light years, and is estimated to be 100 million years old.

The data here were captured while visiting the TAAA CAC dark site in southern AZ.
