Description

You will have to forgive the overly dramatic Lord Of The Rings titles on the next few images. Its just that I think these are by far my best images yet. I bumped up the integration time and included SII data to try to improve colour range. My CEM60 continues to track with insane accuracy - I am terrified to move it and have this come to an end. Processing has suddenly become fun instead of a chore. I also consulted one of the Imaging Elders (Dan Kusz - thanks Dan!) here on Astrobin to get some advice on star processing and will continue to apply his advice over time. It will take a few images to be in full effect and I will have to get some new filters as well.

This summer has been fairly good for imaging, and I'm really enjoying my new (to me) Esprit ED120. I have it set up with the reducer under custom covers on my patio. The rig is fairly large for the patio, and I get some complaints from the family, but it is so nice just pulling off the cover and imaging for a night without having to set up and tear down, and as I said, the mount is outperforming its earlier years.

NGC 6914 is an interesting part of the summer milky way not too far from Sadr. The 640mm focal length framed the dark nebula well. The dark globules remind me of the Nazgul in my favourite movies.
