Description

Wikipedia:  NGC1333 is a reflection nebula located in the northern constellation Perseus, positioned next to the southern constellation border with Taurus and Aries. It was first discovered by German astronomer Eduard Schönfeld in 1855. The nebula is visible as a hazy patch in a small telescope, while a larger aperture will show a pair of dark nebulae designated Barnard 1 and Barnard 2. NGC 1333 is a mere 1,000 light-years from Earth.

Because of the faint dust surrounding the main part of NGC 1333 it was a difficult image for me to process.
This is an RGB image taken with a mono camera. I used Ha and Oiii to help fill in the red and blue. In my first version the Oiii wasn't able to bring out much blue in the brighter area of the nebula,  so I added more Oiii images to the stacking process and more blue became visible.

The stars were removed with StarXterminator prior to combining R,G, and B into a color image. The three R,G,B star images were combined, stretched and saturated a bit before combining them back into the fully processed main image.

I wasn't able to get the dark nebulae to show well, I don't know if I need more hours or if my processing skills in PixInsight are lacking.  I suppose a larger telescope would help. Most of the good NGC 1333 images I've seen were taken with large telescopes.
We can only improve our skills if we challenge ourselves, this image challenged me.
I will come back to this image when my PixInsight skills have improved.

Update: 11/28/22
I took a bunch of Blue at 180 sec and finally was able to bring out the blue.
Blue 60 sec - 20
Blue 120 sec - 63
Blue 180 sec - 63
Green 60 sec -  20
Green 120 sec - 74
Green 180 sec - 28
Red 60 sec - 19
Red 120 sec - 86
Red 180 sec - 29
I used PixInsight's HDRComposition process to combine all the blues, all the reds and all the greens.
